He who was living is now dead

Watercolour and graphite
9 x 10cm

I have had these bullets for decades, and their beginning goes back to World War II where they were used in the Solomon Islands, probably in the Battle for Guadalcanal.  I found them  buried in the ocean sands whilst scuba diving.  They just seemed a perfect fit with this snail shell in terms of colour, design and nomenclature.  The snail shell was once a home, the bullets were defending a home.  Now they are both dead.
